NEWS

The Omega 3 would like it to be known that, despite appearances to the contrary, they have not broken up. Really!

2009 was always going to be a busy year for the lads individually:

Graeme has been to America, did a run at the National Theatre and a hugely successful reunion with Gryphon at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, in June. He's also been gigging and recording with Denise Black and the Loose Screw.

In the summer (their unusually cold winter!) Clive went to New Zealand then, soon after his return, did a stint running ukulele workshops for the Living Tradition Summer School in Scotland. For a small instrument the ukulele is looming large in Clive's life at the moment. He has embarked on a series of solo ukulele gigs and workshops, mainly at arts centres (see Clive's website – www.cliveharvey.co.uk – for more details) and is in increasing demand as a ukulele teacher. He's also recording a ukulele album and is busy with a few writing projects including a book on – you've guessed it – the ukulele.

Derek has been backwards and forwards and backwards to the Isle of Wight, sorting out property deals, building a music room in his garden, building his superb tables for celebrity clients and driving his very sporty son Luke around the country to compete in events. One day Luke will play for England in something or other, you’ll see! Probably Badminton, at which he is very, very good.

But, TO3 fans, don't despair! The lads are still keen to peddle their Essential Batty Acids and will be back working together again in 2010. Watch this space!

"The chemistry is still there. So's the humour, but backed up with a good deal of musicality. The new material stands up very well amongst the old Jelly numbers - just as strong, if not stronger than the old stuff." - Lawrence Heath, Electric Theatre, Guildford
